European Politics – a collection of incompetence

Socialism with an ugly face.

Europe portrays itself as cultured, virtuous, well dressed, well-educated, with its trains even running on time – ‘une veritable paradis sur terre’. Yes dear the EU is perfect. Sadly though none of the aforementioned attributes really applies to a large percentage of the population, but as fascists have always known, if you repeat the lie enough times, the lie becomes the truth, and the deceitful truth becomes reality. Europe has an interesting history, variegated cultures and languages and is a nice vacation spot. But a new world order it is not – and indeed European experiments in trying to destroy reality and impose a new social order has led to 400 years of incessant warfare, destruction and carnage, not to mention corruption, cynicism and immorality.

So let us recount the ugliness of recent Euro-history. Let’s only suggest a few – totalitarianism, supporting terror, supporting immoral internationalism, and its anti-reality alliance with the Arab world – which should be enough to explode the myth of European ‘cultural’ superiority.

In the 20th century European experiments in racism, extreme nationalism, fascism, and communism, murdered 100 million people, caused three world wars, and destroyed Eastern Europe’s social, intellectual, economic and environmental systems. European experiments in merging Darwinism with political ideology and nationalism gave the world modern totalitarianism – a perverted philosophy married with technology and mass communications. The after-effects are still all too apparent in Russia, Eastern Europe and embedded in the corrupt nexus of mafia, government and business. Hardly a cause for celebration.

To redress the past we can now view Europe’s 6 layered socialist hierarchy and its attempt to stamp out nationalism and indeed national states. Its main effect has been of course to crush liberty, freedom and economic vitality. Europe has never implemented its vaunted one market plan – it is just a large partially liberalized trading bloc with an external tariff. ‘One Market’ rhetoric has been defeated by national and transnational tariffs, non-tariff barriers, corruption, government support of national champions and endemic unions. While some selective liberalization across borders has occurred in certain market segments [banking, auto, insurance, transport, defense], the great part of Europe’s national economies are still heavily protected and over-regulated. Agriculture, which consumes ½ of the EU’s budget, is one obvious example of Europe’s incessant mercantilism [killing by the way poor African farmers who are locked out of the EU’s market]. Welfare states are in command and over-taxation and non-productive labor, capital and supply environments ensures that Europe gets poorer. Hardly a cause for celebration.

As well Europe peddles in terrorism. European governments especially France and Germany are the biggest financiers worldwide of terror regimes. Both these states are the biggest lenders and supporters of the top 40 rogue nations in the world. Wherever the US is not – France and Germany are sure to be. In Iraq during the 1990s, in hypocritical violation of UN resolutions and law, France and Germany made billions of dollars trading and contracting with Hussein’s regime. They were hardly concerned for the 300.000 liquidated Iraqis. Their anti-war stance based on ‘moral grounds’ was sickening but befits a Continent that overflows with corruption and double-talk. Hardly a cause for celebration.

A main reason for such political hypocrisy and corruption is that Europe’s economic integration has been transformed by utopians into a plan for political integration. Europe has never had true political transparency and its politics are cravenly corrupt. The individual has always been divorced from real political power in Europe – with all of Europe’s various corrupt coalitions divorced from democratic control and oversight. But it gets worse when you graft on the Brusselcrats to the national political systems. With Brussels in control we now have a multi-layered bureaucracy accounting for 50 % of national laws sitting on top of the old rotten structure. Hardly a cause for celebration.

To ensure future dominance of this big socialist model, the Eurocrats need to pass a pro-Government and pro-Union Constitution. So expect the failed EU Constitution to come back in an even more violent socialist and anti-American form, granting the European a certain ‘risk-free’ life-style, and unions and big corporations all the various pay offs they need to mobilize the ‘Yes’ vote. The Europeans will enshrine big government and by extension big corruption and political double-talk into the center-piece of their union. In fact the EU will be run by bureaucrats, union leaders and corporate leaders who will be, as they are now, above the law. When power is above the law, fascism easily takes hold and fascism has many forms – from the hard to the soft variety. Don’t expect freedom to be of great concern in post-modern Europe. Hardly a cause for celebration.

Worse for those who value freedom is the EU fetish with internationalism. Apparently to the diseased EU mind all things transnational are good. It is impossible to understand the child like fascination that Canadians and the Euro’s have with international agencies. The stupidity is boundless. This week the EU Court of Justice ruled that decisions by the United Nations Security Council would take precedence over national constitutions, European law and even the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms (ECHR). In a verdict of 21 September the five judges of the European Court of First Instance stated that:

“The Court of First Instance finds that, according to international law, the obligations of the Member States of the United Nations under the Charter of the United Nations prevail over any other obligation, including their obligations under the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and under the EC Treaty. This paramountcy extends to decisions of the Security Council.

Although it is not a member of the United Nations, the [European] Community must also be considered to be bound […] Having regard to the rule of paramountcy set out above, those decisions [of the Security Council] fall, in principle, outside the ambit of the Court’s judicial review and the Court has no authority to call into question, even indirectly, their lawfulness in the light of Community law or of fundamental rights as recognised in the Community legal order.”

Although it is not a member of the United Nations, the [European] Community must also be considered to be bound […] Having regard to the rule of paramountcy set out above, those decisions [of the Security Council] fall, in principle, outside the ambit of the Court’s judicial review and the Court has no authority to call into question, even indirectly, their lawfulness in the light of Community law or of fundamental rights as recognised in the Community legal order.”

If this is not an anti-freedom, and anti-constitutional ruling, then nothing is. Yet the EU media said nary a word of dissent. Europe’s moral surrender to socialism it appears, was long ago completed. No one in Europe apparently gives a damn that individual freedom and liberty is being crushed. Hardly a cause for celebration.

But it gets worse. Europe like the UNO would be a large parody if it were benign. But it is not. In fact Europe has become dangerous. It possesses no military. It does little, indeed almost nothing, in the war on fascism Islam. It supports the Arab world, which has resulted in racist anti-semiticism and billions of dollars given to Arafat, the PLO, and other terrorist groups, which use the money to attack Western assets. The EU has consistently, since 1973, embarked on a policy to appease and get closer to the Arab world to succor oil supplies and to develop an anti-US orbit of power. What has in fact transpired has been the submission of Europe to the Arab League in the guise of dhimmitude. The Arabs and Islamacists openly boast of conquering Europe through immigration, political control, and fear. Their claims based on EU complicity, are not without merit. Hardly a cause for celebration.

It remains to be seen if Europe has enough common sense to treat its many ills. It needs to reject internationalism for the sake of internationalism, Fascist Arabism and Islam, and embrace the Judeo-Christian Culture of its past. Given Europe’s political and moral corruption it is a good bet that it will do nothing to heal itself. Europe will continue to decline and slowly slide into the influence and then the control of international elements and organizations friendly with Islam and the Arab world. Europe is no ally but a willing accomplice against Western interests. It is already the poor cousin within the West, about to become a lot poorer economically and morally.

But as in Mussolini’s Italy, the trains do run on time but this is hardly a cause for celebration
