BBC, Guardian, CBC now lying about Iraqi civilian dead

Political hatreds are destroying real news

by StFerdIII

So now the left wing media is lying about the thousands of dead Iraqi’s killed by Coalition forces. Apparently depending on what false number you want to believe either 25.000 [iraqibodycount.net] or 100.000 Iraqi’s [Lancet Journal], are dead, with 2/3 being killed by US forces according to media reports. Well we have seen such false numbers before and no doubt will have to endure more left wing gleeful recounting of dead civilians. The media, with craven anti-Western and anti-American bias, of course will inflate the death toll, lament and lie and paint Iraq in the worst possible color.

Even if the number of civilian dead is 25.000, and it isn’t, then it is still about 25 % of the yearly total that Hussein’s regime murdered each year. I would say that a 75 % decrease in the death rate while building the beginnings of a democracy is miraculous. As well 100.000 Iraqi children are still alive that would have died under UN sanctions given the 1990s child death rate, since according to UNICEF, 5.000 were dying each month. That is a story worth reporting on.

In any event neither number quoted by the media on Iraqi civilian dead makes much sense. Counting civilian dead is more guesswork than science. The Lancet study has been destroyed by analysis since it was premised on surveys and ranges of estimations of civilian dead extrapolated from these surveys. The range was from 8.000 to 198.000 effectively meaning that the survey was a complete waste of time. Like global warming, gay genes and other left wing obsessions, it has been debunked numerous times.

The IBC [Iraqibodycount.net] calculation of 25.000 sounds plausible but its originators are left wing activists who have already lied about the Afghan body count of civilian dead – off by only 200 % it turned out. The main contributors to IBC are well known anti-war propagandists. The site is riddled with anti-US, anti-war pieces, most of them slavering diatribes for leftists. It is incredible that any news source uses the IBC.net and gives it credibility. Indeed the sneering headline “We don’t do body counts”, on the site’s home page indicates the lack of veracity of the entire site.

This tagline is a quote stated by General Tommy Franks, US Central Command. Franks made his comment during Operation Anaconda in
Afghanistan, not Iraq and his comment was valid. Franks was referring to the dubious military body counts that the US used during the Vietnam war, especially of military opposition dead. His statement had nothing to do with Iraq and nothing to do with civilians. The use of such a phrase destroys the site’s credibility. If they lie about this, what else do they lie about?

The IBC gets its dead body count from the media and then uses the lower range of media estimates. But even here the numbers make little sense. Relying on mostly liberal news media for death counts is not very scientific. On
June 2 2005, the Iraqi Interior Minister according to the Washington Post, said that in the past 18 months, 12.000 Iraqi civilians had died due to terrorist attacks. Of this total 10.500 were Shiites. In the first 8 months of the war there is no evidence that 13.000 civilians died, the oft-cited number is about 5.000 most of them killed during the war itself. Indeed in the last few recent months of escalating terror, the IBC.net states that 2.849 civilians died. We can infer then, that 13.000 did not die in the first few months after the occupation. So in total, from the start of the war, we have about 15.000 civilian dead, most of them murdered by fascist terrorists. While high this number is lower than the 25.000 used by IBC.net and its media friends.

Yet what is the media spin on the civilian carnage? Do the media denounce terror, civilian targeting and cowardly homicide bombers ? Of course not. According to the BBC, CBC and Guardian, 60 % of civilian casualties are due to the Coalition with IBC.net stating 37%. Indeed according to IBC.net only 9 % of civilian dead are due to terrorists! This statistic is pure slander and defies common sense. Only the terrorists are targeting the civilian population. There is no evidence to back up any claims that the Coalition is killing civilians. Indeed the Iraqi Ministers responsible for Health and Security have made it quite clear that most of the deaths are due to terrorists and most victims are Shiites.

But the media will lie. The BBC got caught lying about this issue in January 2005. The BBC reported on January 27 that statistics released by the Iraqi Ministry of Health showed that Coalition forces killed 60% of the civilians that died in the period July 2004 to January 2005. The figures, normally available only to the Iraqi cabinet, showed in January that a total of 3,274 Iraqi civilians were killed and 12,657 wounded during the continuing conflict. However when confronted on this, the BBC had to issue a retraction since the data revealed that most of the civilian dead died due to terrorist activity. But the damage had already been done.

About 20 innocents are murdered each day in
Iraq by terrorists, fascists, Sunni’s and paid criminals. This is the real story. One can argue quite convincingly that the Coalition has saved lives – indeed a 75 % drop in the death rate and 100.000 children saved is humanitarian work of Herculean proportions. But such reporting is beyond our Liberal media. But to go further and assign 37-60% of Iraqi civilian casualties to forces protecting the population and installing democratic reform is irrational and hateful. This is the unbalanced nature of the media that makes winning a war almost impossible.
