Media expertise on Pakistan

What a joke.

by StFerdIII

It has reached the point when the only obvious conclusion one can make about the mainstream media is this: whatever they tell you, the opposite is true. Dripping in Orwellian newspeak, so brainwashed by the multi-cult, sensitivity, one-world, act-now! propaganda; the alpha-bet soup media is as clueless as someone who believes in a 7th century Arab moon cult. Pakistan is yet another example of the media's capacity for delusion. The act now! Pakistan needs a democracy! chant is preposterous to say the least.

Nobody in the West knows a damn thing about Pakistan – unless you are one of the few people that have worked or lived there, or come from the huge Pakistani diaspora which has spread across the world. Thanks to membership inside the British empire Pakistanis both moderate and fanatical are rife in Britain, the US and Canada. Perhaps these folks have some knowledge of what goes on in Pakistan and then again perhaps they don't.

Nobody really understands the political, social dynamics of a profoundly Muslim country in which 99% of the population hates the West, has no interest in the tools of Western imperialism [democracy, rights, tolerance etc.], and actively help or cheer for Islamic terrorists. Certainly the Western media is clueless. They can't even tell their readers how many people live in the country; what its GDP is; what the past economic growth rates are; or how the political structure of the state is set up. They know nothing about Pakistan's short history as a unified state; its long history of being a battle ground and frontier region; or about the various ethnicities which once ruled the area.

The media has no idea about the number and strength of radical Islamic parties which dominate Pakistani politics. They don't even know the name of Pakistan's most influential Muslim 'thinker' a man called Maududi, who was about as tolerant as Mohammed or another proto-fasicst, Qutb – an Egyptian who said that Jihad was the purpose of being Muslim. Maududi is one of the top stars of Islamic 'philosophy', or in common terms, one of the stars defending Islamic fascism. His ideas are de rigueur reading for Bin Laden and his ilk, and his anti-modern; anti-Western; profoundly fundamentalist view of Jihadic Islam has generated imitators and political parties from Pakistan to Indonesia.

Did the media tell us that?

The media has accepted that 'democracy' at all costs must be the goal. They parrot Bush's line – given to him by the useless US State department – that democracy now! is the only way forward. Pakistan is not ready for anything to do with democracy. No institutions, culture, rights, political groups, or separation of powers exist. Pakistan is Muslim and it is corrupt. Democracy will solve nothing there. In fact it will make a bad situation a lot worse.

Bhutto, according to the media, is a female white knight. Shining, glimmering, glib and populist, she is, so we are told, the only hope for Pakistan's 'democracy'. What piffle. Bhutto is a corrupt aristocrat who stole billions of dollars in the 1980s. Not even the military could put up with that. A fraudalent aristocrat, intent on stealing more for her friends, is hardly heart-warming, nor is it a good basis for reform. Has the media investigated Bhutto, told us of her corruption and fraud or what her real politics are? Of course not. Because she is a women, they immediately collapse to their knees and pray to her godliness. No analysis or historical memory is needed.

Bhutto did nothing to further democracy when she reigned. Pakistan's economy was in a recession. Its debt levels one of the worst in the world. The poverty rate insufferably high. Under Musharraf, the economy is growing by 7% per year; poverty is collapsing; Islamic fascists are being [however desultory] rounded up or killed; and the nuclear warheads are safe. How does Bhutto reigning as a populist-aristocrat either help us, or help Pakistan's development? Pray tell.

Bush's utopian view that democracy now! must reign is of course childish pablum fed to him by the State department. Here is another thought. Whatever the State department says or believes is more than likely to be 100% wrong. Like the mainstream media, they are largely useless. Saturated with the 'we are all brothers' mentality of the EU-nuchs, the State department has been wrong on almost every single major geo-political issue in the past 50 years. It is a bureaucracy, with its own goals, an addiction to empire building, and a fetish for internationalism. If you want to reduce the US budget deficit, you can do worse than by hacking down this half rotten tree of liberalism.

So it goes as well with the media. Addicted to cultural marxism, and a rejection of geo-political reality, it is not a surprise that the media is screaming its support for Bhutto – a woman in a country about which they know nothing. Maybe we should leave the running of Pakistan to the Pakistanis. As long as the nuclear warheads are safe, and they help us fight Islamo-fascism, the actual political makeup of the country is unimportant.

Only exogenous, external change, mostly through a military adventure would be able to drag Pakistan into the real world. And that is not an option of course.
