Review: Mein Kampf - an expression of academic intellectualism.

An illiterate idiot writing about topics he does not comprehend – supported by 'intellectuals'.

by StFerdIII

Hitler would never have existed without the help of the cultural zeitgeist laid down by academics and 'thinkers'. A cursory reading of the atrocity 'Mein Kampf' or My Struggle, makes this clear. Hitler's mediocre mind, uneducated, untutored and malevolent; grasped onto a few 'academic' threads from the cultural ethos of the late 19th century and turned such simpleton ideas into a colossal criminal plan unrivaled except by the related ideological fascisms perpetrated in Russia and China. Hitler is exhibit A on the dangers of leftist academia and so-called 'intellectuals' – people always fascinated by total power and ultimately death.

It is a fact, but little remarked upon, that Hitler was inspired and indeed supported by popular and quite powerful 'intellectuals'; social 'progressives'; and those espousing racist and supremacist 'dialecticism' – all them born from academics or acclaimed 'thinkers' interpreting historical progress, including Hegel, Marx, Gobineau, Sorel, Lenin, Hobson, Chamberlain, Spengler, and artistic divo's such as Goethe and Wagner. Hitler was created not born. Without the cultural zeitgeist which created Hegelian-Marxian dialecticism and which distorted Darwinian theory into a justification for supremacist nationalism, Hitler never would have acceded to any form of power.

The deranged incompetent lived in Vienna before World War I as a miserable out of work, uneducated tramp, selling post cards and being denied entry into art schools. An untalented mediocrity, Hitler was deeply influenced by the anti-semitic and power-monger mayor of Vienna, Lueger – a man who ran Vienna as his personal fiefdom for 13 years and who was an anti-semite of Hitlerian proportions. Vienna trained Hitler and Vienna was the European center of various racist, anti-semitic and supremacist theories all undergirded by 'scientific' dialecticism and 'historical analysis'.

Most of Hitler's theorising is based on his time in Vienna and upon his experiences in World War I where as a messenger runner he was rewarded for bravery and distinctive acts of courage. It was during the Great War that Hitler developed his personal theory of international political relations; geo-political rivalry; economic competition and the corroding influences of capital, democracy, and the Jew. It was the collapse of Germany in 1918 which lead Hitler and others to blame Germany's defeat on the Jew, faineant politicians, and a lack of national will itself a by product of racial inter-mixing and un-Germanic cultural ideals fomented by international Jewry, the English and the cancer of liberal-bourgeois life.

All such ideas were quite prevalent in the contemporary culture. And such academic and cultural influences inside Hitler's dogma are easily observed. Mein Kampf is littered with popular contemporary quotations from Goethe and Schiller and laced with unintelligible Wagnerian allegories and verbiage. It is a German oriented, and German focused book – most of its 'ideas' emanate from German racial theory, itself a common enough element in the late 19th century, premised on social Darwinism and the international struggle of the 'fittest'. German racialism had a broad and deep history extending back in the modern period to the mid-19th century with Hegel and Bismarck its greatest proponents – the former teaching Marx about 'stage progressions' and the latter informing mental savages such as Hitler about realpolitick and total state power.

These currents of 'popular' intellectualism run like rivers in Hitler's book - incomprehensible lines of gibberish extolling a racialist fantasy world:

“Goethe was still horrified at the thought that in the future marriage between Christians and Jews would no longer be forbidden by law. And Goethe by God, was no reactionary,.....” [p. 312]

“Was the Germany of the past less precious? Was there no obligation toward our own history? Were we still worthy to relate the glory of the past to ourselves?” [p. 205] (Remarking about the German defeat in World War I and the post war convulsions leading to Marxist reactionary movements and political power.)

“I was repelled by the conglomeration of races which the capital showed me, repelled by this whole mixture of Czechs, Poles, Hungarians, Ruthenians, Serbs, and Croats, and everywhere, the eternal mushroom of humanity, -- Jews and more Jews. To me the giant city seemed the embodiment of racial desecration.” [p. 123] (Discussing his years in Vienna).

“Blood sin and desecration of the race are the original sin in this world and the end of a humanity which surrenders to it.” [p. 249]

“All great cultures of the past perished only because the originally creative race died out from blood poisoning.” [p. 289]

“..the gigantic scientific-technical achievements of Europe and America; that is, of Aryan peoples.” [p. 291] (Hitler wrongly perceived that Whites were 'Aryans'. In actual fact Aryans would describe tribes from Northern India, including Gypsies.)

“Among them must be counted the great warriors in this world who, though not understood by the present, are nevertheless prepared to carry the fight for their ideas and ideals to the end.....Beside Frederick the Great stands Martin Luther as well as Richard Wagner.” [p. 213]

Incoherent and misinformed.

Hitler was not widely read, nor educated, preferring what we today would call 'pop culture' works on German history, Nordic myths and artistic-cultural developments. He was after all a failed painter and painting along with architecture were his foremost loves – along with unbridled power mongering. Facts, reality and understanding true history were not his preoccupations. A profound and deep thinker Hitler certainly wasn't. He was not systematic, or interested in details and reality. He had no power of analysis or insight or intelligent application of ideas and reality. He preferred distortions, fantasies and Wagner's not so brave new world of Germanic greatness, with linkages to a past which never existed, full of tall, muscular, blonde, Nordic German heroes, all dynamic, dominant, and distinctive.

Hitler's racial theories were based upon a predictable and rather common notion for that era, of German greatness. Like all supremacist ideals Hitlerism conflates fantasy with reality and expresses an indomitable will to expunge the decadence of liberal-bourgeois life with something more heroic, fantastic and utopian – all controlled by an elite who 'know' what the truth of the world and its destiny shall be.

For Hitler the main 'truth' and his primary theme was to end the Jewish domination and rape of the German race. For Germany to rise up and control the world and prove the superiority of its blood line, and its Aryan history, the Jew had to be exterminated. Such anti-semiticism was rife in the early 20th century abetted by such works at the Russian forgery 'The Protocols of Zion', a condemnation of Jewish international conspiracy not comprehensively dismissed until 1921, 3 years before Mein Kampf was produced:

“The fact that nine tenths of all literary filth, artistic trash, and theatrical idiocy can be set to the account of a people, constituting hardly one hundredth of all the country's inhabitants, could simply not be talked away; it was the plain truth.” [p. 58]

“The relation of Jews to prostitution and, even more, to the white-slave traffic, could be studied in Vienna as perhaps in no other city of Western Europe....” [p.59]

“..by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.” [p. 65]

“Hence, the Jewish people, despite all apparent intellectual qualities, is without any true culture, and especially without any culture of its own.” [p.302]

“Existence impels the Jew to lie, to lie perpetually..” [p. 305]

“..the Jewish influence on economic affairs grows with terrifying speed through the stock exchange.” [p. 314]

Etc. It is interesting to note that many people would today agree with the above comments. Many Muslims certainly would. So too would most Leftists.

Hitler's obsession with the Jew, and with destroying Marxism which he viewed as a Jewish movement designed to control the world; was hardly unique. Many equated Marxist socialism with Jewish plots and conspiracies. Yet Hitlerism was itself of course a statist-socialist philosophy which pilloried Marxism for most of its ideas and fought with Marxists for the same political space and support. What differentiated Hitlerism from Marxism was its racial theory and extreme German nationalism. Marxism like Islam is not bound by color or nationality, but by adherence to the philosophy itself, an ideology demanding submission and compliance.

Intellectual 'weight' also provided Hitler with 'proof' that the capitalist-bourgeois world was a failure. As with Marxists and Islamists, Hitler hated the modern world. Freedom, democracy, markets, choice, and the billions of little decisions made each day by individuals outside of government control, was anathema to his little mind. Only a communal solidarity would allow Germany to develop the power and resources to control the world. Individualism and capitalism were thus to be annihilated.

State control, socialist responsibility, communal feelings would replace the chaos and boredom of the liberal nation. Of course intellectuals of all varieties supported either in toto, or in part such musings – believing then, as they do today, that technocrats and trained elites were far better off to 'manage' society. Individuals are after all moronic – or so believe the 'intellectuals'. The masses need things 'explained' to them. Why then should they have any freedom at all ?

As Hitler said echoing the intellectual and professorial rants, and the artistic expressions of German racism: “I owe it to that period (in Vienna) that I grew hard and am still capable of being hard. And even more, I exalt it for tearing me away from the hollowness of comfortable life;...for hurling me, despite all resistance, into a world of misery and poverty, thus making me acquainted with those for whom I was later to fight.” Hitler's brave new world of socialist heroism. All designed to extirpate the modern world, democracy, markets and individuality and rebuild his Germanic world along the designs so coveted by the 'intellectual' and the academic.

It is no wonder that academics are today so enthralled by tyranny and Islam. Such 'thinkers' were after all the main benefactors and progenitors of Hitlerian socialism and Russian fascism. A fact that the world still ignores. Without the cultural ethos provided by such 'progressives' Hitler never would have existed.

All hail the academic and the intellectual !
