Israel should be in NATO

Turkey, and double standards in fighting terrorism.

by StFerdIII

If the Muslim Turks want to invade northern Iraq and destroy a peaceful Kurdistan to ostensibly root out terrorism, that apparently is okay. If the Jews [or Joos] provoked by thousands of rocket attacks, suicide bombers and blood-curdling calls by Arabs to destroy Israel, do the same in Gaza, Lebanon or the bizarrely named 'occupied territories', that is of course fascist genocide. The double standard is frightening.

If the Muslim Turks desire to destroy Kurdish identity and tribalism, and invade across international borders to achieve their objectives, that is fine. If the Jews try to defend themselves against terrorist attacks, or deny the Arab objective of annihlating the Jewish state, by crossing any border or any ad-hoc UN designated line, that is condemned as just so typically white-man-Joo-American-neo con-fascist war-mongering. The double standard is not only frightening but dangerous and it reveals the bathos of modern sentiments.

Turkey has killed about 30.000 Kurds in the past 15 years. It has wiped out entire villages and areas of Kurdish presence in southern Turkey. The Kurdish language was until recently, outlawed. Writings, polemics, histories or appraisals by the Kurds in Turkey, of their situation can be meet with imprisonment, torture and worse. Economically and politically the 15 million Kurds in Turkey are an oppressed apartheid group, singled out by the Turkish government for their lack of 'Turkishness', which is an actual Swiftian-like law. Human rights abuses, so dear to the Euro-heart are rampant against the Kurds.

In such a milieu terrorism will arise. The Kurd's Marxist People's Party or PKK, is a menace and should be destroyed. Blowing up civilians and attacking Turkish army outposts is not a highly intelligent nor moral method of getting your legitimate grievances solved. Killing 7.000 Turkish innocents and military personnel in the past 20 years has benefitted only the heavy hand of the Turkish state.

Even though Turkish suppression of basic rights, expressions and even economic activity has made Turkic Kurdistan a mess it is obvious that on any level terrorism is the wrong response. So much for the obvious. The harder question is how to get rid of the PKK. Cross border Turkish insurgency, tried in the 1990s, is not the right way.

Many methods to eradicate the PKK exist and need to be tried including: erasing PKK bases and leadership inside Turkey; working with the Kurds and Americans to legally incarcerate PKK leaders inside Iraq; sealing off known border transit points; putting in a NATO contingent along the border to police and protect against terrorist movements; working inside Turkey to improve the lot of the Kurds by granting basic rights, freedoms and allowing Kurdistan some degree of self-rule. These and other practical measures have yet to be undertaken.

In lieu of practical measures the Turk's great idea is to invade the US protectorate in northern Iraq and destabilise a growing and solid Muslim region of economic potential, whilst destroying vast swathes of hitherto peaceful areas; and perhaps make a lunge for the oil fields at Kirkuk. This rather ridiculous response is accepted and applauded by the world's media which barks its support by insipid allusions to Turkey's right to defend itself; the horrific nature of the PKK [even though 30.000 dead Kurdish civilians fertilise Turkish graves]; that Turkey is a NATO ally and so on. None of it is sensible nor consistent.

If the Joos attack across any line – real or imagined – they are pilloried. The Joos must put up with thousands of rocket attacks each year; hundreds of dead and maimed civilians; and other sundry attacks on its sovereignty. If the Joos invade Lebanon to root out Islamic fascists and terrorists as they did in 1982 or 2006 they are immediately denounced as racist war-loving fascists, attacking a sovereign state and killing babies. That Lebanon is a terror state managed by Hizbollah is usually lost on most of the media. That Gaza is a transit point for rockets, ammunition, terrorists and illegal material is usually ignored. If there is any state that has a legitimate right to force in order to protect its very survival, that state is of course Israel – it is not Turkey.

'Experts' and 'analysts' with their polished teeth and groovy hair-cuts echo on TV the Turkish rationale that since the PKK is a terrorist group, and since Al Qaeda is a terrorist group, then ergo, Turkey has a right to invade Iraq just as the US did. There is nothing sensible nor consistent in this argument. The PKK is fighting not for Kurdish independence in Turkey – that was dropped during the 1990s – but for basic human and political rights and expressions. The PKK for all its barabarism has no linkages; no ideological connection; nor any ressemblance to the activities of international Islamic fascism. The analogy is false.

Yet Israel does face annihlation by Islamic and Arab fascism. It is being attacked by fascist Arab-Islamic elements which desire its complete and utter destruction. The PKK in Turkey does not, and has never expressed the desire to depose or deconstruct the Turkish state. The PKK wants basic rights of political-economy and self-expression. Arabs and Muslims want Israel to disappear.

Israel is surrounded and infiltrated by terrorist groups. Hamas and Hizbollah are both funded by Iran and in part by Syria. They are proxy armies in the Jihadic war against the Zionist state, used by Iran and Syria to undermine the Israeli state. Saudi money flows to all manners of organisations both in and outside of Israel which are determined to end the Jewish state. Everything from racist Islamic education, to hate filled anti-Jew propaganda, to terrorist training centers, is being funded by the Arabs or Iranians in their quest to eradicate the Jewish state.

Yet Israel is condemned at every turn for any action it undertakes in self-defence.

The double standard regarding Turkey and the Jewish state is nauseating. The media applauds Muslim Turkey's reaction to the PKK and its sabre rattling because it is an Islamic state. Period. In the twisted world view of liberals, chattering Marxists and ignorant internationalists, it is those fun-loving Arabs and tolerant Muslims who are being unfairly targeted by crusading Joos and fascist Christian Americans. Any actions by the Joos or Americans must perforce be ones of savagery, driven by the lust for oil, profits, world hegemony and white supremacism. If the wholesome and peace loving Turks need to defend themselves against PKK terrorism, then so be it. Any action is justified.

Here is an idea. Since Judeo-Christian culture is the bedrock of civilisation, and since Israel is a prosperous, independent and multi-cultural liberal entity, firmly in the vaguard of democracy and political-economic freedom, let's make it a part of NATO. Israel is far more like Holland or France, than Turkey. Since the Muslim Turks support Israel – or so the media tells us – they won't have a problem with it.

We can achor Israel into the world's foremost democratic-military caucus – NATO – and thereby forever gurantee its survival. By so doing we would force the Euro-relativists to pledge to defend the Jewish state against Arab-Islamic fascism and predations. This will engender a sea-change in Euro-diplomacy and their nominally anti-Jew positions. No longer would the Euros be able to shovel the Arabs mountains of money and intellectual justifications to cover their fascist intentions. We would also send a very clear message to the Iranians and Syrians that their time is up. Any more incursions against Israel by their proxies will result in war. That is how NATO is built – one attack on one member mandates a response agains the aggressor state by all NATO members.

If the media and US state department personalities are going to give Turkey a free pass to kill 30.000 Kurdish civilians and invade across international borders at their whim, then the very least that can be done is to proffer the hand of NATO to Israel. The Jewish state must survive. It is the first and most important frontier fortress which must not fall to the pagan fascism called Islam. Whether it is the Arabs or Persians who attack Israel matters not.

Israel needs to be firmly within the world's most important democratic-military caucus. If Turkey is in NATO – why not Israel?
