A talk radio station in Toronto took to the streets to ask people their opinion on Gay and Queer marriages. The response is typical of a liberal city, submerged in relativity. Most respondents did not care and immediately began to cry that more important issues – saving the world, health care, the environment – should be on the political agenda. As one person stuttered, ‘what people do in their private lives is not my business.’ The response typifies the incredible ignorance that plays into the hands of politicians and their left wing, ‘regulate everything’ friends.

There are two great fallacies around Queer Marriage. First, the tax-payer funded Gay lobby, maintains that it is a rights issue. Gay Marriage clearly has nothing to do with rights, since Gays enjoy the same rights as everyone else [more below]. Second, the political elite and their Gay allies maintain that the issue is about Love. It is not. The issue has nothing to do with Love and the issue centers on the structure of society, the division of tax money, and the dictation by a minority to a majority, on how society should be reconfigured. Such issues touch all aspects of society – the media, education, workplaces, tax levels, and program spending. This is why Gay Marriage matters – it will affect each and every person.

The ‘Rights’ issue is particularly obnoxious. The Gays maintain that their struggle mirrors that of the Black Civil Rights movement in the US. This is an insult to the whites and blacks and many Christians by the way, that for 100 years and more had fought for black equality. This says nothing of the 500.000 white northern soldiers that died in a vicious civil war, waged in part to destroy slavery. Blacks, Gays, and other minorities in Canada have complete protection under the Charter to ‘life, liberty and security’. The legal system protects the right of access to Public programs and institutions. In fact it can be argued that being Gay opens doors to university, jobs and preferential treatment. After all Gay MP Svend Robinson was not convicted on stealing a $64.000 ring, even though he was caught doing so on tape, because he was queer. I doubt a heterosexual would get the same treatment. The rights argument is partially based of course on the repudiated Gay Gene theory. This theory has been proven time and again to be false. [see Gay Gene theory is a myth for more info].

Love as well is irrelevant. You might love your sister but our society does not allow you to marry her. You might love many men, but a woman in our society can only marry one man. You might love your dog, but bestiality is still against the law. Society makes choices based on the best and optimum structure regarding the family and social units and communities. The tax system is biased towards the heterosexual family for obvious reasons – the creation of a normative family structure. It is evident that a heterosexual family is the best way to structure familial, group, community and national institutions. The fact that the family is under attack in the media, entertainment and the courts through no-fault divorces, should not blind people to the reality that there are optimum structures in society. Gay marriage is not one of them.

This leads to the real reason for politicians, judges and tax-payer funded Gay lobbies to push for Gay marriage. Morality, children, sexual license, and state interference in non-state institutions can and should be discussed. Yet there are 2 more aspects to the Gay Marriage debate that no one brings up:

Could these 2 factors be driving the political and local activism of the tax-payer funded Gay Lobby ? Jack Layton leader of the far-left NDP, said 'the issue is about Love'. Love of what exactly Jack ? Extreme nationalism and money ? Maybe tax payers should stop funding minority Lobby groups that desire social changes and tax money. The Gays and their political elitist friends use Love, Save the World, Our Children’s Future, and other banal platitudes to sell everything from higher taxes and debt, to more program spending.

The Gay Marriage debate is incomplete until people understand that it affects everyone. It will affect your taxes since they will have to go up to pay for the Social payments demanded by Gays and it affects the structure of your society and the interpretation of the Charter of Rights and of our Constitutional Rights. Once a non-state institution like Marriage is changed by a minority group and political-legal activists, there is nothing – either moral or legal – that can prevent other minority groups from demanding more money, extra-legal rights or the creation of special programs to compensate them and their grievances.

Gay marriage should be put to a referendum. There is no doubt that it would lose – and lose badly.
