If a government wants to neuter opposition; ensure compliance and turn people into sheep; than controlling the press and the dissemination of media information is mandatory. Autocracies and Marxist-Socialist manifestations of Statism are required by the very illogic of their policies to distort reality and convince otherwise rational humans that the utopian plans being foisted upon them are in actual fact beneficial – when everyone can see that they are not. So it is not a surprise that in order to push through its absurd program the Prophet's royal court has decided that any media opposition must be slandered, crushed and butchered. All for the benefit of the people of course......

The media is suppose to be the 4^th estate or a check on government ambition and corruption. In the US it is simply a slavering lap-dog of the Prophet Obamed and his clique. The US mainstream media is laughingstock. Only Fox News and the Internet provide any semblance of reality reporting. That is why both must be crushed. The first through slanderous and ad-hominem attacks. The second through the Orwellian program of 'net neutrality' legislation where government will ensure 'equality' of information access and searching. How kind of them.

What is clear is this: the Prophet and friends want to control all information. Fox will not comply with its demands at genuflection and subservience – so ergo it must be defamed. The only strategy that the White House can come up with in its objective at controlling all news sources is to demonize the freedom of speech rights of an organization which presents news in as realistic a way as possible and which is highly critical of big government. Fox was extremely caustic about most of Bush's expansion of state power – under the incredibly insane rubric of 'compassionate conservatism' [which is like calling a Marxist a free market Leninist].

Anyone who understands America, its experiment; its Constitution; its 19^th century culture of individualism and do-it-yourself ethos; is appalled by the Bush-Bama extension of the nanny-state. And if you criticize this you must be ostracized ? Isn't this what totalitarians do ? Stifle the 4^th estate and turn the press into Pravda ?

Edmund Burke coined the term the 4^th estate and viewed it as more important than the other 3 as Jeffrey Archer in his work The Fourth Estate observes: "In May 1789, Louis XVI summoned to Versailles a full meeting of the 'Estates General'. The First Estate consisted of three hundred clergy. The Second Estate, three hundred nobles. The Third Estate, six hundred commoners. Some years later, after the French Revolution, Edmund Burke, looking up at the Press Gallery of the House of Commons, said, 'Yonder sits the Fourth Estate, and they are more important than them all.'"

Not today Edmund. View Russia for example.  The Putinistas in Russia own the media. Only the lonely Novaya Gazeta or New Daily is not under government control or ownership. Putin and the Kremlin not only have power over the energy and telecoms sectors in Russia; they also own the media which they use to great propaganda effect. Elections thanks to a compliant media are decidedly undemocratic in Putin-ia. So too are Duma or parliamentary debates and meetings. The Duma is nothing more than a diversion, a circus, a mere trapping of what should be the institution of checks and balances. Everyone knows that anything of import is decided over dinner at the Kremlin by Putin and his gang.

Now look at America [will it be renamed in 4 years hence Obamerica?].  The Prophet dearly covets the same powers and media enslavement. No criticism. Blind acceptance of all the radical socialization of America by all members of the Internet and non-main stream media. NBC, ABC, CBS, New York Times, Washington Post and most other major outlets are already walking in lock step with the right arm swinging to the Prophet's greatness and message. Surely the other media channels must also follow ? And if not they must, in the eyes of the most radical government in US history be punished, vilified and destroyed.

The ghosts of Stalin and Hitler smile benignly upon such goals.

Back in the 70's Nixon was garroted by the media for his enemies list and outspoken attacks on the liberal media for what he thought was disinformation and dishonest reporting. The Nixon administration's attack on the media was called 'totalitarian' by the media titans at the time. Freedom of speech was to be elevated they stated; and the government had no right to tell the 4^th estate what to print, write or disseminate.

Well today it is a different story with the MSM isn't it ? No critiquing their chosen God is there ? And if other news organizations or bloggers dissent well the government has every right to stop such 'racist' badgering of a Black President !

So now 35 years after Nixon we have the mainstream media complicit in the state controlling information. Putin and the Prophet ? Not much difference in aims or ambitions is there ?
