Letters by a modern St. Ferdinand III about cults

Plenty of cults exist - every cult has its 'religious dogma', its idols, its 'prophets', its 'science', its 'proof' and its intolerant liturgy of demands.  Cults everywhere:  Islam, the State, the cult of Gay and Queer, Marxism, Darwin and Evolution, 'Science', Globaloneywarming, Changing Climate, Abortion....a nice variety for the human-hater, amoral, anti-rationalist to choose from.  It is so much fun mocking them isn't it ?

The State as 'God' – or 'Statism'.

It leads to the inevitable demise of the individual and the nation.

by StFerdIII

The socialization of America [or Amerika]; proceeding from the gigantic pro-Government years of Bush II and into the Marxist-Socialist Jihad of the 'great-man' Prophet Obamed; ensures that the penury of America's future matches the static, neo-Statism of Europe's present. America is simply on the wrong path. If it does not choose the road 'least travelled', it will collapse into financial insolvency, and as well I believe, into feuding and eventually seceding states and regions. Statism – or the elevation of the state to replace Judeo-Christian natural law and the individual – is the theology of communal power and ultimately of enslavement, which presages and ensures, moral, economic, cultural national and even an individual's mental bankruptcy. Written on February 24 2009, there is little that was either mis-characterized, or which was not borne out by facts and events when describing the radical and complete rewiring of America from an independent and anomalous republic; to just another retread and tired version of neo-Statism which has failed every time it has been attempted:

Hayek quoting De Tocqueville predicted this steady drift – abetted by a change in popular culture – towards the knave status which is the logical outcome of socialist or communal organisation.

Democracy extends the sphere of individual freedom, socialism restricts it. Democracy attaches all possible value to each man; socialism makes each man a mere agent, a mere number. Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word: equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude.

Socialism ineluctably leads to slavery. Why? Because state control inevitably demands a loss of freedom – freedom in any and every sense be it in private property, speech, organisation, beliefs or in leisure. As Hayek confirms, “In this sense socialism means the abolition of private enterprise, of private ownership of the means of production, and the creation of a system of 'planned economy', in which the entrepreneur working for profit is replaced by a central planning body.”

Back in 2007 people who bothered to investigate the incoming future administration and its 'Dear Leader' the glorified, arrogant, sanctimonious, never-worked-in-real-world, Obamed knew what was coming. This man and his cadre from Chicago, along with political allies such as Reid, Pelosi, Clinton and others, was part of a radical Marxist-Socialist bloc, whose intention was to redefine, and if possible, crush the American experiment. Only by devastating and ridiculing all the facets and cultural attributes which created and still in part exist in the unique expression we call 'America'; can the radicals led by Obama finish their cultural Marxist work.

The repositioning of America as another statist entity is one warmly received and embraced by most of academia and the media. These enthusiastic 'intellectuals' [a euphemism for someone who cannot work, but can make up arcane, petrified and factually irrelevant theories and get paid for it]; have always believed in a technocracy which must manage 'the stupid people' and curtail all those individual decisions which occur every day. Billions of choices cannot be managed. Only by socializing the key sectors of the economy and weighing the citizen knave down with obscure and obese legislation, can the state impose its will and eliminate that nasty, terrible disease called 'individualism'.

Community must replace the person. To use Hayek's term, Obamed's 'central planning body' is an incarnation of this attitude; a collection of government bodies, agencies, regulatory groups and politicians all organised by the office of the President and a small group of key Democratic politicians. Its mandate is to communalize as much as possible. The factors of production and consumption managed by the caring elite. At the apex of this new organization sits the smiling Commissar, the great Prophet Obamed, who has always believed in the benign and efficacious powers of the state to re-organise and re-make America into something resembling Europe.

Even back in February 2009 the plans were clearly laid out:

....-government bailing out bad mortgage holders [$275 billion program], which creates moral hazard and further distorts markets
-government ownership or at least control of the major financial institutions of the US
-ditto with the insurance market
-the socialisation in part of the US health care market [which will kill innovation and the drug firms]
-the nationalisation of failed auto firms
-media control and limits on what is termed 'free and fair speech'
[destroying talk radio for eg.]
-a $1.5 – 2.0 Trillion dollar systemic extension of government spending [this spending will not contract in future years]
-protracted funding of multi-cultural and other politically-correct programs which create clients of the state [an example is the tens of millions given to US Muslim organisations]
-a reduction in military and intelligence spending [when the opposite is needed]

......Obamed no doubt believes in Mussolini's maxim, quoted by Hayek to open up his chapter on the inevitable consequence of state planning [slavery]; 'We were the first to assert that the more complicated the forms assumed by civilisation, the more restricted the freedom of the individual must become.'

Strutting like a Mussolini the new Prophet regales his fellow inferiors on how terrible the US is; what a colossal failure its experiment has become; and how he and only he can save, regenerate and expiate the sins of, America.”

That last point will be the little man's legacy. His puerile hatred of America will result not only in his political destruction, but if and when the US passes into a phase of optimism, renewal and reduced government; his historical legacy will be one of failure. The little man is a lot like Mussolini - another expensive and very-bloody failure who vowed to create a new 'Rome'. In the case of the new Prophet, it is a new Sweden, not a new Roman empire which is the objective. Obama is what happens when people don't pay attention. Elections do matter. Especially when a capering Marxist, who believes in Globaloney Warming; UN governance; Islam-is-Peace, and that the State is moral; is elevated to the most powerful position in the world. Mickey Mouse would have been a better choice for President than the man who has never worked.

In sum it is clear from history and experiential data that the State is usually part of the problem, not the solution.  Statism is no replacement for Judeo-Christian culture.  Likewise someone like Obama is no replacement for a true leader.  America can't afford to have this man and his cultural Marxist Jihad any longer.  Dispense with him.  Consign him to where failures like Mussolini, Castro, Chavez and even one day Putin all reside - the trash bin of megalomaniacal usurpers.
