Jerry Bergman Phd [we won't hold that against him], and eviscerator of evolution, has produced a wonderful book which ties in atheistic-evolutionary dogma and cant to Hitlerism and Nazi fascism. He is of course completely right. Hitler's theology is nothing else other than an expression and manifestation of Darwin's non-scientific metaphysics. [Bergman's other book 'The Dark side of Darwin', (link) is also appropriate for anyone who believes that Darwin was a scientist, or mentally stable. He was neither.]

Atheists squirm when confronted with the reality that Hitler and his fascist barbarians were engaged in a social-Darwinist 'survival of the fittest', in which the 'superior genes and race' of the Teutons had supposedly 'evolved' to lead the world into a new utopia of ubermensch, cleansed of all genetic refuse and inferiority. Nietzsche's superman writ real. As Bergman states a few times, Hitler et al. truly believed that they were on the side of 'science', using Darwinian cant as their intellectual basis; and were indeed doing the world a favour by ridding the human race of its genetic and racial detritus and inferiors. Evolution was the root and core of Germanic Fascism [see Weikart's book here].

Evolution was a central tenet of Nazi socialism, predicated on about 50 years of German 'scientific' dogma, propaganda, and usurpation of the media, the university system, science journals, the medical establishment and credentialed scientists. Bergman goes through this sordid state of German 'science'. Germany was the most ardent advocate of Evolution from 1870 onwards. Evolutionary theology led German 'scientists' to conclude that racism [superior genetics of white Teutons or Aryans]; war, liquidation of the sick and incapable; and eugenics, were not only permissible but demanded. Hitler's cant and rhetoric did not arise in a vacuum, nor were they 'new' or innovative. They were built upon 50 years of Darwinian propaganda.

Atheists, discomfited by the fact that Nazi theology is premised upon the dogma of Evolution, apply a typical Marxist-Atheist construct. If you ask an Atheist to explain Hitlerism, he will do the following. First, he will call you a simpleton for equating Nazis with Atheists. Second, he will say that Nazi theology was not an implementation of Darwinian biological 'science' [though it most certainly was]. Third, he will state that Hitler was a Catholic, and that most Nazis were Christian. This lie is so stupendously mendacious, that even Atheists who are not known for mental clarity and balance, must blush whilst spewing it out.

Bergman has an entire chapter devoted to crushing the 'Hitler was a pious Christian' myth, a claim that Atheists have tried to foster since the end of World War II. Here is a summary of what facts and truth tell us about Hitler being a Christian:

-Hitler's mother was Catholic, but his father was a devout Atheist. Before the age of 12 Hitler had informed his mother that he would follow his 'free thinking' father. [Kubicek, The Young Hitler, p. 95]

-Hitler believed that Christianity was an 'illegitimate' child of Judaism, and like its Jewish parent, a 'swine which need to be eradicated'. [Azar, Twentieth Century in Crisis]

-Hitler declared that Christianity was formed by the Jew Paul of Tarsus and Jewish Christianity was therefore similar to Jewish Russian Bolshevism. [ibid]

-Christianity according to Hitler, had weakened Germany through its moral commandments which protected the weak from the strong. [Fischel, Ortmann, The Holocaust and its Religious Impact]

-Christianity was based in part on the Jewish Old Testament and was thus incompatible with Nazi theology. [Poewe, New Religions and the Nazis]

-Hitler and the Nazi cult viewed Darwinism and Christianity as polar opposites since Christianity strove to break barriers of race, classes and differences between peoples. Darwinism seeks to kill those who are weak, unfit to survive, or who do not improve the genetic pool of the human race – the basis of Nazi dogma. [Keith, Evolution and Ethics]

-Hitler preached that the Nazis supported the 'science' of evolution, while the Church was against both science and evolutionary theory. [Azar, 154]

-Hitler viewed Christianity as an obstacle to evolutionary 'progress' and would ensure 'systematic human failure'. [Bullock, Hitler: A study in tyranny]

-From 1933 onwards the SS were given a free hand to persecute the Catholic Church. Lists were drawn up of Catholics who were hostile to the Nazis and most of these were deported to camps or simply shot. [Conway, The Nazi Persecution of the Churches 1933-1945]

-In 1935 the Lutheran church was put under Nazi-state control. Only Nazi propaganda could be preached in Lutheran churches after 1935 [Dimont, Jews God and History,]

-April 7 1933, Hitler spoke that the Christian church would be demolished after the war and it had no place within Germany. [Poewe, p. 112] This was just after the famous 'concordat' of friendship the Nazis had signed with the Vatican [a false ploy of course].

-In 1942 the Nazis outlawed the Bible, replacing it with Mein Kampf. Catholic churches were forbidden to show images or statues other than photos of Hitler, and ordered to place a sword on the altar.

-By 1940 the Nazis had created a 30 point plan to eliminate the Catholic church.

-During World War II Hitler's regime murdered 5 million Catholics. Special barracks for priests and clergy had to be erected at various camps given the extent of the slaughter against the Church leadership. [Dimont, p. 391]

As Bergman declares, Hitler did describe himself as a 'Christian' early in his political career. A politician who lied to buy votes and appear 'reasonable' ? Hitler the insane, mentally challenged demon, who was a pathologically ill fascist, lied ? Perish the thought. Politicians do anything to gain power don't they ? In 1930 the German south was staunchly Catholic and the north Lutheran. The culture was Christian. Any politician of the time would claim to be representative of that culture.

Today Hitler would have no need to utter such mendacity. He would simply declare himself to be a secular-Atheist-Keynesian like most of his fellow Germans are today. Notwithstanding his fake-piety, it was obvious by 1935 what the real designs of the Nazis, as stated in Mein Kampf, were. A 'Reich's Church' was to be built to support the Nazi cult. All other faiths and churches were to be destroyed including Christianity – a 'Jewish' invention. Ein volk, ein reich, ein fuhrer, means what is says. One state, created on the foundations of one dogma, ruled by one man who was an ardent Darwinist and who believed that Darwinian 'survival of the fittest' meant that Germans had a 'right and a 'duty' to expunge all inferior races, including that of the Jews and their Christian offspring.

Hitler was no more a Christian than was Joseph Stalin, a former member of a boy's seminary. He was a hard-core Atheist-Evolutionist.
