Letters by a modern St. Ferdinand III about cults

Gab@StFerdinandIII - https://unstabbinated.substack.com/

Plenty of cults exist - every cult has its 'religious dogma', its idols, its 'prophets', its 'science', its 'proof' and its intolerant liturgy of demands.  Cults everywhere:  Corona, 'The Science' or Scientism, Islam, the State, the cult of Gender Fascism, Marxism, Darwin and Evolution, Globaloneywarming, Changing Climate, Abortion...

Christianity’s burden

The socialization and feminization of the Church

by StFerdIII

At one time in history the Church took Kipling’s incitement seriously and sent its ‘best’ to ‘veil terror and pride’ and spread civilisation. No more. Now like the rest of Western civilization the Church appears in full retreat; bowing before the ignorant, paganism called Islam; and apologizing for supposed sundry and many crimes against all of humanity. Once in the vanguard of Kipling’s civilisational thesis the Church is now, along with the rest of the mommy-welfare state West, in full flight. Even non-Christians should realize that a vital and confident Church along with a vibrant faith is needed to project strength and protect the greatness of Western civilization.

Christianity was one of the most profound and civilizing influences in history. The theatrical and supernatural phenomena in the Bible are merely allegories and examples to illustrate a particular theme. They are not substitutes for the true ethos of Christian dogma – one that helped shaped Western civilization and propel society into the modern and rich age of individuality and progress. It is regretful then that the storied institutions of Christianity appear to be arranging themselves against their own history; progress and the morality embedded in Western civilization. Kipling’s burden is being ignored by the Church and the detractors and secularist moralizers are diluting our civilization by forcing the Church to become ever more left wing, socialist and isolationist.

The Church is forced into ‘compromise’ since the secularists, socialists and the Euro-Canadian axis of anti-reality, have spent 50 hysterical years in pointing out the various flaws and crimes of the Church. For these people Church history is nothing more than a catalogue of crimes and humiliations: the inquisition; the age of discovery and the wanton destruction of superior, illiterate, pagan cultures; the crusades; the torturing of scientific minds; a hatred of homosexuality whilst allowing priests to rape young boys’; arrogant; corrupt; irrational; etc etc. Most of the claims are exaggerated and the benefits bequeathed by Christendom and Church leadership to the development of the modern world are carefully ignored. Rather ironically the secular rant against Christianity seems oddly misplaced since the Church today is an ally of left-wing causes and complaints.

One does not have to be a Christian to defend the Church. There is little doubt that the Church was instrumental in saving Greco-Romano civilization after the fall of Rome in 476 AD. The progress of the West in economics, math, science, moral philosophy, female emancipation, the destruction of slavery, human rights, concern for native populations, and welfare are all indebted to the Church and the support by Christianity to the causes of faith; reason; science and human freedom. The inquisition which was a political project begun by those in power to acquire land and money, killed less in its 200 year history, then Islam has murdered in any year since 622 AD. The entire concepts of human rights and natural law developed from Spanish theologians who vigorously defended North American Indian claims to their land and their culture. One could go on through the list of ‘Church crimes’ and easily amend or refute them, but in a post-modern secular age it is not worthwhile. The critics only laugh and scorn and name-call those who disagree with the mentally enfeebled left liberalism of the elite.

How is the Church ‘left-wing’?

The Vatican until recently was ambivalent and far too conciliatory towards Islam. Pope Benedict spoke the truth about the madness of Islam and its founder Mohammed recently, but groveled out apologies within a week, after Muslims threatened to literally kill him. Islam is not a religion. Neither is scientology, eco-fetishology, wiccan worship or druidism. The Church does not engage in inter-faith healing projects with tree worshippers yet it gets on bended knee to placate a 7th century pagan Arabian cult. It is doubtful that this will change in the near future. Regarding Islam then, the left wing socialists have a luke-warm ally in the Vatican.

In the USA, the Protestants are quite supportive of many socialist-liberal causes including ending the war in Iraq, having unfettered illegal Mexican immigration and destroying Israel. The Protestant church has long campaigned for illegal amnesty; a porous border; and more social welfare payments to those who enter the country illegally. Likewise it is a vociferous opponent of the war on terror and engages like the Vatican, in all sorts of wobbly inter-faith healing gabfests with Muslims. It is lethargic on criticism towards Islam, but highly energetic in criticizing US foreign policy. Take this policy statement from the ‘Coalition of Churches’:

“A coalition of American churches sharply denounced the U.S.-led war in Iraq …accusing Washington of ‘raining down terror" and apologizing to other countries for ‘the violence, degradation and poverty our nation has sown.’

‘We lament with special anguish the war in Iraq, launched in deception and violating global norms of justice and human rights. We mourn all who have died or been injured in this war. We acknowledge with shame abuses carried out in our name.’

Not only do the mainstream Churches pound the pulpit against the Iraqi war, but the loony left inside the Church hates capitalism. Modern Church dogma, unlike its medieval predecessor, is not favorably disposed towards the profit motive or individualist-capitalism. There are many reasons for this including concern for the poor; elevated morality; and a disposition to support the underdogs of society; but none of these justifies the outlandish Church hatred of what actually relieves poverty, suffering and oppression – market capitalism. Yet in February 2006 the same ‘Coalition of Churches’ organization issued a Michael Moore-like press release:

“The statement, issued at the largest gathering of Christian churches in nearly a decade, also warned the United States was pushing the world toward environmental catastrophe with a ‘culture of consumption’ and its refusal to back international accords seeking to battle global warming.”

So there you have it! Not only is the US a capitalist imperialist power murdering everyone in Iraq, its disgusting market economy will destroy mankind! And the Church wonders why many non-Christians view it as a crazy anachronism, out of sorts with reality. Is the above any different than a left wing diatribe or a Democratic party policy paper?

But Church contempt for Western civilization must of course include a disavowal of Judaism and Israel. The US Presbyterian Church with its 4 million members has historically voiced great displeasure with the very existence of Israel. It is not alone. The 1.3 million member United Church of Christ has routinely called for economic sanctions and the end of US military aid to Israel. Top officials within the 8 million member United Methodist Church openly propose US disinvestment from Israel and US disengagement from supporting the Israeli regime. Taken together the above Protestant sects seem quite willing to allow the Arabs to overrun and destroy a Western democratic state whose Judaic ideology gave birth to their own. Moronic? Not to left-liberals. Try finding anything similar from the Protestant USA churches regarding Islam. None can be found.

Yes there is a Christian evangelical ‘right’ that supports in part; US civilization, the Iraqi war, the right to gun ownership, and the maintenance of the Jewish state. But contrary to media reports and demonisation the so-called Christian right is in fact riddled with groups, sects and those who believe in left-liberalism and the pronouncements given above. It is not a monolithic controlling force nor is it benign as regards the safe-guarding of our civilization. As with the Catholic church in Europe, the US Protestant movement has been inexorably forced into supporting a wide variety and range of leftist and Marxist causes. The evidence is clear.

The socialist-marxist orientation of society has deeply affected the Church – both Protestant and Catholic. The past enterprising energies of men of fortune, missionaries, scholars, doctors and believers in Western civilization finds almost no echo in today’s world. Christianity, like the West, has no self-confidence. Sneered at, persecuted, attacked and vilified the Church, like any populist politician, has steadily moved to the left, to appease, please and placate. It leads to the dilution not only of Church doctrine but Western civilisational strength. This places us all, Christians and non-Christians alike, in grave danger.
